Aging-Young Seminars teach you how to age with vitality, joy, grace and enthusiasm.

Joan Lucas, founder of Aging-YoungJoan Lucas was a professional dancer for 10 years in Broadway shows, motion pictures and television. She raised a family of three sons while teaching dance and choreographing ballets and musicals on the East Coast.

In 1988 she moved back to Los Angeles County, where she was born and raised, to take care of her aging father. She moved to Mt. Shasta in 1991 to pursue a more spiritual life and considers herself lucky to have her oldest son and grandson living in the same town.

Joan taught dance at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA. for 4 years and continues to choreograph all their musicals. She is a member of Shasta Taiko (Japanese drumming) and when 2 friends from the group asked her "how do you stay so young?" Joan, now in her early 70's, answered "I don't know but I'll get back to you!" Two years later, Aging-Young was created receiving enthusiastic feedback from it's participants.

I used to be able to do this when I was young,
when my body was my instrument of performance.

Now I enjoy performing with Shasta Taiko,
where drums are my instrument, not my body.

I could probably do this now at age 72,
but I don't think I'll try. (yeah, right!)

"Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it,
you've got to start young."

--Fred Astaire
